NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man was arrested on numerous charges after police said they found him passed out in his vehicle at a stoplight.

Police said on Jan. 11, at 9:43 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a vehicle stopped at a red light facing eastbound on 4th St. at the intersection of Willow.

Police said the officer observed the driver of the vehicle to be passed out behind the wheel.  The light turned green and the driver was still asleep.

Police said there were several vehicles behind the vehicle that were honking their horns when the officer awakened the driver who was identified as Charles Lynch.

Police said Lynch showed signs of being under the influence of drugs and, as a result, was detained but refused drug testing.  He was subsequently arrested for refusal

Additionally, police said officers located pills of Morphine and Pregabalin on his person, as well as a substance that field-tested positive for meth.

Lynch was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center on suspicion of possession, DUI drugs, and refusal.
