Joanna Niblack, age 74, of Benkelman passed away at the Kearney Regional Hospital on December 28, 2023. She was born in Benkelman on April 3, 1949, to Emery and Louise (Swartz). Joanna attended and graduated from Benkelman High School in 1967.
Joanna was a lifelong resident of Benkelman, serving as the County Assessor for over 40 years. She enjoyed her pet cats, dogs, and horses. She was known to be an excellent writer, though unpublished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Louise, sister, Virginia, two brothers, Larry, and Mark.
Joanna is survived by her sister, Patsy Niblack of Colby, KS, niece, Roquel “Kelly” Anderson of Pisgah, IA and two great-nieces, two great-nephews.
A private family burial took place in Benkelman Cemetery on January 2, 2024. Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com. Memorials may be left in Joanna’s name to the McCook Humane Society. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
