NORTH PLATTTE, Neb.-The North Platte Public Schools Foundation received a generous $600 donation from a brand new business in North Platte, Ideal Health. The owner isn’t new to North Platte; in fact Terri (Niedan) Krolikowski graduated from North Platte High School in 1977. She is the owner of Ideal Health located in Westfield and will be in town once a week helping people eat healthy.
This donation was because Terri wanted to give back to the community and help students. It happened because her friend’s husband started a new job in North Platte as the Principal for Jefferson Elementary School, Jeff Ellsworth. She also knew there was a Back Pack program and how important nutrition is for kids.
When Jeff received the call from Terri he wasn’t sure who to call. Jeff reached out to Brandi Busher, Director of Student Service and who oversees the Food Pantry and Back Pack Program. She then notified the foundation about the donation. “I knew the name Niedan very well and didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Terri until today” said Terri Burchell, Executive Director for North Platte Public Schools Foundation. “These funds will make a big impact for students to receive food and be better prepared to learn.” Burchell said.
Through the generosity of many donors, the North Platte Public Schools Foundation administers the funds for NPHS Food Pantry and Back Pack Program.
