Alta Stubbs was surrounded by her family when she passed away at Great Plains Health on February 9, 2024, at the age of 89.
Alta was born to Harold and Evelyn Frohman on May 6, 1934, at Atkinson, NE, where she grew up. After high school, Alta moved to Kearney and there she met Richard Stubbs. They married on June 5, 1955, in Mexico.
The couple lived in Long Beach, CA, then moved to North Platte years later. They had many different businesses over the years and Alta operated two Day Cares: Rent-a-Mom and Kids World.
She was a Christian woman who loved listening to gospel music. She liked reading, making candy, and celebrating with her family. To know Alta was to know love.
She is survived by her children, Kim Sellers (Martin), Rhonda Stubbs (Ham Hawkins), and Pamela LeDroit (Kevin), all of North Platte, and Rick Stubbs (Mary) of Stockville; grandchildren, Rickie Sellers (Maddi Karre), Angel Sellers (Cisco Plunk), Jason Sellers, Ronnie Stubbs, Roy Stubbs, Jolene Sabin (Jared Hartley), Janele Murrish (Jeremy), and Charity Stubbs; her siblings, Kay Bray and James Frohman of North Platte and LeRoy Frohman of Kentucky; and many great-grandkids, nieces, nephews and other family.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; sisters, Helen Jensen, Judy Eltiste, Jean Barr and Marian Abrams; and brother, Larry Frohman.
