Tonya Mehrens (1976-2020)

     Tonya was born in Valentine, Nebraska to Marcy and Ed Steward on May 20, 1976.  She passed away on October 29, 2020 in Kearney, Nebraska after a courageous battle with cancer.
     Tonya lived life to the fullest.  Through her life she lived in various towns, from Las Vegas, Nevada to Valentine, Nebraska.  During her adventures in life, she touched several lives.
     She attended school in Cody, Nebraska; Chadron, Nebraska; Gordon, Nebraska; and Valentine, Nebraska.  Her favorite activities were cheerleading and putting smiles on people's faces.  
     On November 17, 1996 she welcomed her first son, Tyrell Justin Moseman, and on June 27, 2005 she welcomed her second son, Teylor Michael Mehrens with Tom David Mehrens.
     On June 7, 2008, Tonya and Tom joined into a wonderful, loving marriage.  In 2012, she studied massage therapy at Universal College of Healing Arts.  She went on to start an amazing career to help many people with their pain.
     Tonya leaves behind her husband, Tom David Mehrens; her two sons, Tyrel Justing Mosemann (Hailee) and Teylor Michael Mehrens; her parents Marcy Stewart & Jim Walsh, and Ed Stewart; her brother Larry Stewart; grandmother Bonnie Stewart; aunts and uncles Marie Belt (Ron, Allen Hayford (Renee), harold (Donna) Hayford, Calvin (Stella) Hayford, and Kathy (Russ) Carr and their sons Steve, Kevin, and Rodney. Also surviving Tonya are Tom's parents Mike and Bonnie Mehrens and sisters & brothers Maisie and Mike Stotts (Collin), Sammy Mehrens, and Aaron Shipley (Madysyn & Dekyr), Clark Mehrens; sister Crystal and Travis Welliver (Andrew & Mariah), sister Artee McCaskill (Peyton & Austin), brother Zach Henry; numerous nieces and nephews, cousiins and many, many friends whom she touched with her light and bubbly personality.  Everyone she came in contact with, she made sure they felt special and lover by her.
     Tonya is preceded in death by her grandmother Savilla Hayford; grandparents Joyce & Bruno Schlueter; grandmother Bonnie Merhrens; second mon Bernie Rockey; second dad, Kenny Paxton; and second grandmother Joan Dawson.
     Funeral service for Tonya Mehrens, age 44, of Valentine, nebraska will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Valentine.  Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Valentine.  Visitation will be on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine, Nebraska.
