Clara Vencill of North Platte passed away at home on May 9, 2024, at the age of 86.
Clara, the daughter of John and Clara Muhlenkamp, was born May 29, 1937, in Grainfield, KS. She grew up in North Platte where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1955.
On September 24, 1955, Clara married Fred Vencill in North Platte where they made their home. The couple had two daughters, Debra and Pamela, and were together for nearly 50 years when Fred passed away.
Clara worked as a secretary at Lab and Pathology for several years then at Red Roof Antiques. She loved antiques, stuffed bears and working in her yard and she enjoyed reading. Clara loved her family and big dogs, especially her dog, Sissy.
Along with her husband and parents, Clara was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra.
She is survived by her daughter, Pama Vencill (Bear Giles) of Venice, FL; son-in-law, Howard Gilliam of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Chad Gilliam (Dotty), Scott Gillam (Caty), Todd Gilliam (Parmita), Blake Gilliam (Stephanie), Emily Magill and Hunter Broland (Emily Rene); 11 great-grandchildren; and other family.
