The North Platte NRD is excited to announce the new Source Water Protection Specialist, Paul Safford. Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Ag Business from the University of Wyoming. He worked at Simplot Grower Solutions for 27 years. He started as an applicator, became a crop advisor and agronomist for 10 years, and was a supervisor for 5 years in the Bayard and Scottsbluff areas.
In this new position, Paul will work with the North Platte NRD, South Platte NRD, and the NRCS offices in those areas. He will be working with landowners and producers to educate and demonstrate the best management practices for groundwater quality and quantity. He will be able to provide technical assistance, inform producers and landowners of upcoming workshops and demonstrations, and assist with financial program information and applications via email, phone calls, or direct mail.
