After another bitterly cold Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service in North Platte is predicting a warmup through the weekend.
Wind chill values — which dropped to more than 30 below zero Thursday — will remain dangerously cold Friday morning, dropping as low as 20 below.
By Saturday, however, the mercury will begin to rise, with a projected high temperature in the mid- to upper-40s through Wednesday.
There is a slight chance of more snow late Thursday night and rain showers Sunday night, the only precipitation in the long-term forecast.
