Lincoln, Ne - Scottsbluff native Garrett Nelson declared for the NFL draft today via his Twitter Page. "To the fans of Nebraska, you have shown me an overwhelming amount of support and love. From saying hello on the street, to letters, messages, hand shakes and kind words. No matter how big or small of gesture, all of you have a special place in my heart forever." Nelson wrote.
Nelson a 2022 Team Captain started every game in 2020, '21 &'22, and was voted All Big 10 Second team defense by both the conference media and coaches in 2022.
Garrett earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May 2022.
