Lois was on March 6th, 1943 in Cambridge, NE to Bert and Elizabeth Carlson. She departed this world with family by her side on October 25th, 2023. She was the youngest of 6 children.
Lois met Gene Lunkwitz, her husband, in North Platte, NE in January of 1962. They fell in love immediately that day, but didn't see each other again for another year. They started dating in January of 1963 and were married in November of 1963. They had 4 children from their union. The first of the children were twins. The oldest was Gaylene (Cody) Shaw, then came Jenene (Howard) Schrader, next was Cherylene Lunkwitz, and finally their son Leonard (Lucrecia) Lunkwitz.
Lois's greatest pride and joy in life was her 4 kids, 12 grandkids, and 29 great-grandkids. She loves her family so much.
Everyone that met mom loved her. Mom's laugh and love for life would brighten anyone's day. She loved to tell stories and prank people, her laughter was infectious.
Mom loved all animals, especially her chickens, dogs, cats, and all the deer that would come up to the house. She loved to be outside, she would fish, hunt, and especially visit with family and friends.
Mom was preceded in death by her daughter Jenene Schrader in 2022. Her life with Gene was so special to her. The loved each other so much.
Cremation was chosen and the funeral to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at 10:30 am at the Methodist Church in Paxton, NE.
