NORTH PLATTE, Neb - The North Platte Community Playhouse is preparing to welcome young performers for its annual Youth Theatre Summer Camps, which include free public showcase performances in June.
Students in grades 5 through 12 will attend camp from June 2 to 5, with daily rehearsals running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Their showcase performance will be held Friday, June 6, at 6 p.m.
The camp for younger students in kindergarten through 4th grade will take place June 10 to 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day, with a showcase scheduled for Friday, June 13, at 6 p.m. All performances are free to attend, with a free-will donation welcome.
In addition to the camps, the Playhouse will stage a full youth production of Shrek Jr. in July. Auditions are set for Monday, June 16, at 6 p.m. in the Playhouse’s Canteen Room. Rehearsals will run through mid-July, with costume fittings beginning June 25 and performances scheduled for the weekends of July 18–20 and July 25–27.
The Playhouse encourages community members to attend and support these student performances.
