A bake sale will be held Thursday in North Platte to support a western Nebraska family who lost their home in a recent wildfire.

Students with the MPCC Chapter of the National Student Nurses’ Association and the Licensed Practical Nurses Association of Nebraska are organizing the fundraiser for the Randy and Jenna Ross family of Garden County.

The Ross family, which includes three young children, lost their home and all personal belongings in the Morrill Fire.

The bake sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday at three locations across Mid-Plains Community College campuses in North Platte. Those locations include the entryway of the W.W. Wood Building on North Campus, the fireplace area of the McDonald-Belton Building on South Campus, and the stairway of the Health and Science Center on South Campus.

Organizers say a variety of baked goods will be available for purchase, and monetary donations will also be accepted at each location.
