Mary "Nadean" Stoney passed away in Cozad, Nebraska on June 27, 2023 at the age of 92.

Nadean was born on September 20, 1930 to parents William and Mamie (Fiala) Jennings.  She graduated Decatur County High School with the Class of 1948.  That same year, she married the love of her life, Edward Harold Stoney, on September 30th.  They made their home in Oberlin, Kansas, and then later in Indianola, Nebraska where they fed America by farming.  Together, Edward and Nadean were blessed with their seven children:  Jerry, Jane, Joyce, Janet, Julie, Jody, and an infant daughter that passed, Edna Jean.

After Edward's passing in 1994, Nadean moved into her mother's house in Oberlin, Kansas.  She worked a TRW and then later, enjoyed cooking at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Nadean created beautiful work with her sewing and quilting skills.  She enjoyed gardening and loved dancing, especially Polka.  She was a devoted member of the St. Catherine's Church, and was a past president of the Alter Society.  She was a member of the American Sacred Heart of Oberlin, Kansas, Royal Neighbors, and Widowers & Friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; infant daughter, Edna Jean; two brothers, Lawrence and James Jennings; a son, Jerry Stoney; and daughter-in-law, Waunita Stoney.

Those left to celebrate Nadean's life are her daughters, Jan (Pete) Jareske of Cozad, NE, Joyce Honeyman of McCook, NE, Janet (Kevin) Myers of Arvada, CO, Julie (Allen) Miles of North Platte, NE, and Jody Skidmore of Aurora, NE; sister, Better Carlton of Keno, OR; and 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the St. CAtherine's Catholic Church in Indianola, Nebraska.  Burial was in the St. Catholic church Cemetery.

Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home of McCook, NE was entrusted with arrangements.
