David Winkelmann, of La Vista, has become the first official signee of the North Platte Community
 College men's golf team.

Winkelmann
 competed all four years as a Cougar at Gross Catholic High School and 
individually finished second
 at the Gross Catholic-Elkhorn-Skutt Triangular in 2022. In his previous
 season, Winkelmann had an 84.7 average in 15 rounds of play.

"I chose North Platte because it is the best path for me to reach the next level," Winkelmann said. "Coach
 Peers is committed to making the program competitive and helping us succeed as players."

David is the son of Phil and Jennifer Winkelmann.

The Knights will begin their inaugural season in the fall of
2023.
