NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A man was arrested on felony assault charges Wednesday following an alleged assault at a local hotel.
According to North Platte police, at around 10:31 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 2100 block of South Jeffers St.
Police said it was reported that a male subject had been assaulted.
Arriving officers made contact with the victim, who police said had visible injuries to his face and body.
The victim told officers that he had gotten in an argument with Darrel Bridges, 27, while the two were in a room at the motel.
Police said the victim stated that, during the argument, Bridges attacked him and scratched his face.
The victim told police Bridges then grabbed a clothes iron and struck the victim in the face, causing an injury to his eye.
After striking him with the iron, the victim alleged that Bridges bit him on the chest.
Police said the victim's injuries corroborated his account of the event, and probable cause was established to arrest Bridges on suspicion of felony 2nd-degree domestic assault
Officers made contact with Bridges, who was still on scene and took him into custody. He was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
The victim was treated by EMS for their injuries.
