Jerry Florer, age 78, of Ogallala, Nebraska passed away of natural causes on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.
Jerry was born on September 13, 1942 in North Platte, Nebraska to Raymond William Florer and Serina Lena Sorenson.
Jerry graduated for high school in North Platte with the Class of 1963. He then joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged.
Jerry married Iolia B. McQueen on April 19, 1964 in Ogallala, Nebraska. Jerry loved his family and friends, as well as loved to hunt & fish.
Jerry was preceded in death by both his parents: William & Serina Florer of North Platte, Nebraska; and by his sister, Wanda Irene, who died at birth.
He is survived by his wife, Iolia Florer; three daughters ShanDey (Paul) Page of Marietta, Ohio, Carlene (Russell) Minzel of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kim (Tony) Garrelts of Ogallala, Nebraska; two grandsons Andrew (Tiffany) and Michael; three granddaughters MyKayla (Brandon), Kristine (Nick), and Kelsea; and two great-grandsons Alex and Link.
A memorial has been established in his memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where a recording of the service will be posted.
Visitation for memorial book signatures will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. (MT) up until the service time. The memorial service will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. (MT) at Prairie Hills Funeral Home, 602 North Spruce Street in Ogallala, Nebraska. Interment of cremains will be at a later date.
