
Linda Herndon peacefully passed away at her home in North Platte on January 22, 2022, at the age of 72.
Linda was born to Gilbert and Carobell Bartman on June 3, 1949, in Kearney. When she was in the 6th grade, the family moved to North Platte and Linda went on to graduate from NPHS with the Class of 1967. She attended college in Eugene, OR, and after earning her teaching degree, she returned home.
On August 11, 1979, Linda married Fay Herndon in North Platte. She worked at Lion's Cleaners, The Buckle, Ideal Linen and Orr's Cleaners. Linda was such a great seamstress she owned and operated her own business, Linda's Alterations.
Linda enjoyed watching football, going on bus trips and exercising at Curves and the Rec Center. She loved her family and lived her life for Fay and her grandkids. Linda will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Carobell Bartman; and in-laws, Arthur and Velma Herndon.
Linda leaves behind her husband, Fay; children, Todd (Alisha) Herndon and Karen Herndon (Alan Sullivan); grandchildren, Taylor, Gunnar and Harper; sister, Rosemary (Harold) Grandy; and her brother, Don Bartman, all of North Platte; brother-in-law, Joe Herndon (Andrea) and sister-in-law, Jane Herndon, of Gothenburg; as well as other family.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Jean Anderson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Moorefield Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and with family greeting from 4-6 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
