Clyde Allan Barry, 89, of Venango, passed away on August 9, 2024, at the Regent Park Nursing Home in Holyoke.
Clyde was born April 7, 1935, in Ovid, Colorado, to Wilbur and Susan (Keime) Barry. He graduated from Sedgwick High School with the class of 1954.
On July 19, 1956, Clyde married Shirley E. Henni at her parents' home in Venango. The couple made their home in Venango and were blessed with four children: Steve, David, Kathy, and Sheri.
Clyde worked for the Perkins County Department of Roads for over 40 years, most of which as District 3 Foreman. Clyde retired at the age of 73 and immensely enjoyed following his grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
Clyde was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Venango. He was a longtime member of the Venango Volunteer Fire Department, where he had served for 40 years.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sheri Bazan, and grandson, James Arias.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Shirley of Venango; children Steve (Theresa) Barry of Ogallala, David (Jill) Barry of Grant, and Kathy (Joe) Arias of Greeley, CO; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; sister Shirley A. Barry of Sterling, CO; and several cousins and other relatives.
A memorial has been established in Clyde's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Venango, with Rev. Kurt Hatteberg officiating. Interment will be in the Venango Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to service time on Saturday at the church.
