Posted May 15, 2021 10:07 PM

Brian Douglas Loughry, of North Platte, Nebraska was surrounded by his family when he passed away on May 15, 2021, at Great Plains Health, at the age of 41.

Brian was born to Larry and Roseann (Bowyer) Loughry on November 2,
1979, in North Platte.  He grew up in Lexington, NE where he graduated from high school in 1998.  While in school, Brian worked at the Leprechaun Cafe waiting tables, then after he and his dad moved to Kearney, NE in '98, Brian worked for Applebee's and later transferred to the North Platte location.  He was a great worker and had received the Employee of the Month several times.

Brian changed careers when he started working as a mechanic for B G & S
Transmission, then did detailing at Bob Spady's.  He went back into the
restaurant business and worked at Whiskey Creek as a cook before being
promoted to manager where he trained lots of employees.  Brian went on
to work for Ruby Tuesdays, Applebee's again, then to Walmart where he
worked on the night stocking crew.  He was quickly promoted to manager
and loved it! He had great people skills and was very well organized,
which made him easy to get along with.

Brian enjoyed gardening, canning and listening to music and was a
Christian man.  He loved people and his fellow workers, but especially
loved his cats and family.  Brian was known as a 'gentle giant' who had
a great sense of humor and a big heart.

He was preceded in death by his great-nephew, Elijah Silos; and his
beloved cats, Snickers and Bobo.

Brian leaves behind his mother, Roseann Van Stell, of North Platte, NE and his father, Larry Loughry, of Fall City, NE; brothers, Todd (Reagan)
Loughry of Mission, TX, and Scott Loughry  and Jason Loughry of North Platte, NE; nieces, Breanna (Julio) Silos and Brittany (Brian) Norgan; nephews, Josiah Loughry and Riley Loughry; great-nephew and niece, Ezekiel and Elisabeth Silos; other family and his many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at
Harvest Christian Fellowship in North Platte.  The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the family.
