Michael Robert White (1953-2021)

     Michael Robert White, age 67, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on June 26, 2021 at his home.  He was born on November 10, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska to Robert James White and Evelyn Lenore Wisely.  Michael grew up in Arizona and resided there until the early 1980's, then he moved to Grand Island, Nebraska.  He lived in Grand Island when the devastating tornados ripped through the city.  He helped with the city cleanup after the devastation.  
     In 1983, he moved to North Platte, Nebraska working for detox and as a custodian at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Tomahawk Truck Stop.  Michael married Shirley Lunkwitz in 1985 at the First Lutheran Church.  To this union a son, Robert, was born in 1986.  They moved to Pennsylvania in 2004 and worked as a floor tech for Wal-Mart until 2011.  Then they moved back to North Platte in late 2011 to help take care of his mother-in-law.
     Michael enjoyed fishing, loved to drink coffee, attend car shows, and would sometimes enjoy tinkering on old cars.
     Survivors include his wife, Shirley White; son, Robert (Elizabeth Junkin) White of North Platte, Nebraska; grandson, Octavyus Junkin of North Platte, Nebraska; Brandi Tomlinson of North Platte; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Evelyn; and his Grandmother Wisely.
     Cremation was chosen.  Services are pending.
