
Joan “Jo Ann” Eddins, age 83 of North Platte passed away December 8, 2021 at Great Plains Health.
Joan was born on February 20, 1938 in North Platte to Arthur Albert and Bernice (Purcel) Staples. She grew up in North Platte, attending school at North Platte Public Schools.
She was employed by an attorney for a time, and worked at DeKalb while attending night school before starting a career with Production Credit Association where she worked for 25 years. Joan finished her career working at the North Platte Opportunity Center for many years. On July 22, 1962 she married Thomas Eddins in North Platte.
Joan was a member of the Prairie Lake Boat Club, loved to square dance, and her family was the center of her life, always putting them first.
Survivors include her children, Kristy (Preston) Keys of North Platte, Sherry (Matt Schneckenburger) of Yates City, IL, Gale (Lynne) Eddins of Parker, CO, Heather Serrano of Lincoln, and Nate Eddins of North Platte; 5 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Carolyn) Staples of Portland, OR, Clarice Rule of Chicago, IL, Judy (Mike) Grassmeyer of Kearney, NE, Karen (Ted) Miller of Lewellen, NE, Jean Smith of Missouri, and Betty (Bill) Denton of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Wally Staples, Keith Staples, Doris Motsinger, Norma Gale, Elsie Jacoby, Geraldine Gilbert, and Barb Johansen.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jeremy Rinke officiating. Dinner and reception to follow at Harvest Christian Fellowship. Visitation will be noon – 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
