Beverly Jo Anderson was born on March 16, 1957, in Atwood, Kansas to Louis George and Irene Fern (Cole) Solko. She attended school in Trenton, Nebraska, and graduated from Trenton High School. Bev furthered her education at McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska.
Beverly was united in marriage to Marty Anderson on March 10, 1979, in McCook. To this union two sons were born: David and Eric. Bev and Marty would later divorce, but they always remained close friends. Bev lived southwest of McCook for many years before moving into town. She worked at the animal clinic in McCook, and also at Valmont, Sarge’s Bar, and for the city of McCook.
Beverly loved most anything outdoors. She had passions for kayaking, fishing, camping, helping with farm work, gardening, and traveling. Her favorite activity was being a grandma to five granddaughters. She often held ‘Grandma Camp’ where each daughter got to spend one on one time with her for several days during the summer.
Bev passed away Sunday morning, March 12, 2023, at her home in McCook. She was 65 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Irene Solko of Trenton and a sister-in-law, Reba Solko.
Survivors include her ex-husband and friend, Marty Anderson; sons, David Anderson and Eric (Megan) Anderson; grandchildren, Marissa Anderson, Mataley Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Devin Anderson, and Macy Anderson; brothers and sisters: Art (Jane) Solko, Colleen (Chuck) Breneman, Debra (Jay) Deselms, Doug (Martha) Solko, and Bruce Solko; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Cremation was chosen and memorial services will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday morning, March 18, 2023 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Mike Roth officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
