HERSHEY, Neb. (Aug. 27, 2025) — Hershey School Board President Steve Koch represented Nebraska this month at the National Forum on Education Policy in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The annual event, sponsored by the Education Commission of the States, brings together policymakers and education leaders from across the country to discuss priorities and challenges in education.
Koch attended alongside Nebraska Commissioner of Education Brian Maher, Nebraska Association of School Boards Executive Director John Spatz, state Sens. Jana Hughes, George Dungan Lonowski and Danielle Conrad Juarez, State Board of Education members Elizabeth Tegtmeier, Maggie Douglas and Kristin Christensen, and Mike Baumgartner of the Nebraska Coordinating Council for Higher Education.

“I was honored to be invited to attend and to represent school boards from Nebraska,” Koch said. “It was a great opportunity to learn, share ideas, and make sure the voices of Nebraska schools are part of the national conversation.”
Hershey Superintendent Jane Davis commended Koch’s selection.
“We are so proud of Steve,” Davis said. “His leadership on our school board is outstanding, and his service at the national level shows his commitment not only to Hershey students but to all students across Nebraska.”
