Richard Douglas Mains, 71, of Burleson, TX (formerly of North Platte} 
passed away April 6, 2022.  He was born December 19, 1950 to William O and Lois (Wheeler) Mains in Omaha, Nebraska.

Richard attended Benson High School in Omaha and graduated with the class of 1969. He attended Midland College in Fremont, where he met the love of his life.  Richard and Donita (Vernon) were united in marriage on April 1, 1971 in Fremont.  They were married 51 years. 
He had various jobs until he got his dream job with the Union Pacific Railroad in 1979.  He worked his way up to locomotive engineer and worked until his health impeded him movements in 2010. 
Richard and Donita owned Tastee Treet Café and Main-street-café as side ventures.  Richard and family moved to Burleson, Texas in 2012.   Richard loved being with him family and special dog, Louie. He was very
protective of his family and loved the Lord. We are proud to call him husband, father, grandfather, and friend. 

Celebrating his life are his wife, Donita and children: Phillip (Teresa)  Mains; Sarah (Heath) Hiles; grandchildren: Elijah, Tustin, Gage, Carlie, 
and Haley.  He is survived by his sisters Laurel Mains, Alice Luciano, LeAnn Atkins, and brothers, Fred Mains and Harold Mains. He touched many lives everywhere he went and had numerous friends.
