
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte Police Department issued multiple citations and made several arrests during a weekend selective traffic enforcement campaign conducted in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
The 40-hour enforcement effort ran from July 10 through July 12 and focused on improving traffic safety throughout the city.
According to Deputy Chief Kendall Allison, officers made a total of 61 traffic contacts during the grant-funded operation.
During the enforcement period, officers cited five drivers for speeding. Additional violations included one charge for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, three arrests for driving under suspension, two traffic signal violations and one citation for careless driving.
Officers also arrested five individuals on outstanding fugitive warrants.
One driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The selective traffic enforcement campaign was conducted with assistance from the Nebraska Department of Transportation as part of ongoing efforts to promote safe driving and reduce traffic-related crashes.
