
NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man has been arrested after he allegedly fired a gun from his vehicle on Newberry Access.
According to North Platte police, on June 24, at 11:27 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Interstate 80 and Newberry Access for a male that was reportedly firing a gun out of a vehicle.
Upon arrival, police say officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of 3200 South Newberry.
Officers made contact with two subjects in the vehicle, including the passenger, 21-year-old Nicholas Wright.
According to police, officers spoke with witnesses who advised that Wright had produced a handgun, and began firing several shots in the air, out the window of the vehicle.
Officers investigated and subsequently located a handgun in the vehicle, as well as spent shell casings in the roadway.
Wright was placed under arrest on suspicion of discharging a firearm from the highway, carrying a concealed weapon (2nd Offense), and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Wright was incarcerated at the Lincoln County Jail.
