It is with sadness that we say good-bye to another well loved furry friend. Oscar Kautz of Westfield Small Animal Clinic in North Platte crossed the Rainbow Bridge on August 11, 2020, at the age of 19, after a short battle with kidney disease.
Oscar was born August 1, 2001, and lived the majority of his life with his original owners; although he stayed overnight at the clinic regularly. After several long-term stays, Oscar moved into the clinic full time in May of 2017.
Oscar was a touchy cat; in his younger years he would not allow anyone to pet him, but as he grew older, he would allow (and even enjoy) affection on his own terms. He enjoyed playing with kick sticks, as long as no one was watching, and loved treats. He would wait at the treat drawer and yowl at anyone who walked by, begging for some treats.
Oscar was preceded in death by his housemate, Laser.
He is survived by his housemate, Bunny; his large extended family at Westfield Small Animal Clinic; and numerous friends.
In memory of Oscar, donations in his name will be accepted for our two local rescues, Fur the Love of Paws and Paws-itive Partners. Cremation has been chosen. Oscar will be greatly missed.
