Police in Kearney are investigating the death of a local infant.
According to Kearney police, at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, the Good Samaritan Ambulance was called to a residence located at 520 West 14th Street in Southwest Kearney, for an infant that was not breathing.
Police say officers were the first to arrive on the scene and discovered that a one-month-old baby girl had died.
Police say the initial investigation indicates that this death is accidental.
The case remains under investigation by the Kearney Police Department and the Buffalo County Attorney’s Office.
The Buffalo County Attorney’s Office has ordered an autopsy in this case.
