Raymond Streeter was born September 24, 1942, to Jacob and Marjorie Streeter at Elm Creek, NE. He passed away surrounded by his family at the North Platte Care Center on May 30, 2024, at age 81.
Raymond grew up in Elm Creek and graduated from Overton High School in 1961. He worked at Armour's until enlisting into the U.S. Army in 1966. Ray served a year in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1968.
On February 2, 1963, Ray married Judy Trembly in North Platte and to this union four children, Pamela, Michael, Todd and Doug, were born.
Ray worked at the local packing house for many years until he purchased his own business, Streeter's Processing, in 1995 at Hayes Center.
In his spare time, Ray enjoyed spending time fishing, golfing, hunting and playing pool, poker, cards and marbles as well as spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela; granddaughter, Meagan; siblings, Floyd, Lloyd, Lucille, Lila, Pat, Chet, Loren Dean, Joe, Beverly Kay and Dwain; and brothers-in-law, Jerry and Claud.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Judy; sons, Mike (Shannon), Todd (Donna) and Doug (Laurie); grandchildren, Megan, Chad, Daniel (Chelsea), Michael (Amanda), Christopher (Ashley), Dustin (Anna), Denise, Kaylen and Logan; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene Streeter (Joyce); sisters, Shirley Dozier and Ellen Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, other family and his friends.
Services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 7, at New Life with Pastor Tyler Barone officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and with family greeting from 4-6 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
