NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A Union Pacific train derailed on Saturday afternoon, just east of North Platte.
Sources tell The Post the train was eastbound and there are approximately 30 cars "in the dirt." The derailment occurred on the main track.
UP spokesperson Raquel Espinoza says crews are responding to a derailment on a rail line that parallels Highway 30 near Maxwell, NE, today at approximately 6:00 p.m. CDT.
Espinoza says there were no injuries. 38 rail cars derailed from the train, which was traveling from North Platte, Nebraska, to Little Rock, Arkansas. The accident is under investigation.
