Kearney man accused of assaulting woman in bathroom at Target

KEARNEY, Neb.-A Kearney man has been accused of assaulting a woman at the local Target.

According to police, at around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday,  officers were dispatched to the store at 4800 3rd Ave. to investigate an assault.

Police said officers were able to determine that a female, 24, had been assaulted by an unknown adult male inside the temporary restrooms.

Police said the female was able to fight off her attacker and the suspect fled on foot, before being located by police.

Following further investigation, police said Bryan Morales-Contreras, 23, was arrested on suspicion of assault by strangulation and false imprisonment.

Police said the case remains under investigation.

Currently 23-year-old, Bryan Morales-Contreras, is being held at the Buffalo County Jail in relation to this incident on charges of Strangulation and False Imprisonment.
