Betsy Ann Wright (1940 - 2020)

     Betsy Ann Wright, age 80, of North Platte, Nebraska died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in North Platte.
     Betsy was born at Four Oaks, North Carolina to William and Susan (Johnson) Allen on June 23, 1940.  She graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1959 and Kings Business College in 1960, then started working.
     On August 14, 1965, Betsy married Earl Howard Wright at Smithville, North Carolina and they made their home in Four Oaks until moving to North Platte, Nebraska in 1976.  Betsy went to work for Centennial Park Retirement Village in the Dietary Department and worked there for 21 years until retiring in 2009 as Food Service Supervisor.
     Betsy was a member of First Christian Church, Lincoln County Historical Society and R.S.V.P.  She cared for her family and friends and especially loved all of her dachshunds, which she had in her home for over 50 years.
     Betsy was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and her daughter, DeLou Smith; her parents, William and Susan Allen; a grandson, Brian Wright; and all her siblings, Ruth Stewart, Ruby Strickland, and Joseph, Ralph, Wilton and Eugene Allen.
     She is survived by her family which includes Bill (Jodi) Allen of Lincoln, Nebraska and their kids, Keenan, Kyle, and Joe; Lewis (Patsy) Allen, Kathy (Roger) Parker, and Joseph Allen all of Four Oaks, NC; Harvey (Barbara) Stewart of Benson, NC; Gail (Dennis) Massengill of Newark, DE; Larry Reynolds of North Platte, NE; Penny (Bill) Kramer of North Platte and their children Taylor Skala, Alisha & Todd Herndon, and Gunnar; Teresa Scott of Toccoa, GA; son-in-law Gene Smith and family of Fontana, CA; grandchildren Brandie Trujillo and Jerry and Novem Smith; her little dachshund, Lucy Lou; and other family members.
     Cremation was chosen.  Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.  The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com, or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte which is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in North Platte.
