Ronald Haertel, age 70, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on August 18, 2020, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska.
Ron was born and raised in North Platte. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1968 and Hastings College in 1972 then worked in Lincoln for several years before retiring to North Platte.
Ron was a joy to be around and his family and friends will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Irene Haertel. Survivors include his sister, Kathy (Leo) Birkby, and niece, Stacey (Cory) Vandivert, all of Scottsdale, AZ; nephew, Scott (Jen) Birkby of Colorado Springs; and other family.
