NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte City Council will meet Tuesday evening with an agenda that includes recreation center upgrades, utility purchases and agreements with neighboring governments.

The council will consider proposals to add an obstacle course system and a climbing zone at the North Platte Recreation Center. Both projects would authorize the mayor to negotiate contracts with private companies for construction.

Also on the agenda is the purchase of a new sewer jet truck for the Wastewater Department at a cost of $628,724.77.  Council members will also review agreements for worker’s compensation and property and liability insurance beginning Oct. 1.

Other items include the renewal of a license agreement with the North Platte 80’s baseball team and interlocal agreements with Lincoln County and Gothenburg for dispatch services.

Public hearings are scheduled for an application from Danlex Property Group seeking a conditional use permit to allow apartments in a commercial building at 1404 and 1420 Rodeo Road.

The council will also take up ordinances related to water, street and sewer improvement districts.
