
North Platte, NE — The North Platte Public Schools Board of Education conducted interviews for the interim superintendent position on Tuesday, March 24, as part of its ongoing leadership transition process.
The Board extends its sincere appreciation to members of the district’s administrative team who dedicated their time and insight to participate in the interview process for a collaborative evaluation of candidates.
Following interviews, the Board has entered into negotiations with Dr. Virginia Moon for the position of Interim Superintendent.
Dr. Moon brings a strong foundation of leadership, along with a broad range of experience serving school districts of varying sizes. Throughout the process, she demonstrated a commitment to clear communication, meaningful community engagement, and fostering collaborative relationships with the Board, administrative team, and staff. The Board also recognizes her strategic mindset as the district continues implementation of its Strategic Plan.
A proposed contract with Dr. Moon is expected to be presented for Board consideration at the regular meeting on April 13.
“The Board is truly excited about the opportunity to bring Dr. Moon on board in this role,” said Board President Emily Garrick. “We believe her leadership, experience, and strategic approach align well with the momentum and direction of our district. The future is bright for NPPS.”
