  David Ronald "Dave" Bratton, Sr. of North Platte passed away at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg on September 27, 2023, at the age of 80.
Dave was born August 11, 1943, to Albert and Cora Bratton at Mulberry, AR.  He grew up between Mulberry and Kansas City, KS, and attended Wyndotte High School.  He then enlisted into the U.S. Army in March 1961and served until March 1964.
Following his discharge, Dave worked various jobs which took him to different states.  He returned to Kansas City and hired on with the Union Pacific Fruit Express then was transferred to North Platte in 1983.  He worked for the railroad until retirement.
Dave was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  He was also active in the Civil Air Patrol in both Kansas City and North Platte.  Dave will always be remembered as an avid fan of "beer thirty".
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Daniel and wife, Dee; his brother, Albert; sister, Ijuana and husband Mac Baber; and his son, Albert.
Dave is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, David, Jr. (Sarah)Bratton of Gladstone, MO, and Dennis Bratton of Galena, IL; daughters, Christina (Gene) Clark of Liberty, MO, and Gina (Jeff) Haws of North Platte; daughter-in-law, Amy Bratton of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Amber, Tenesha, Brendon, Elizabeth, Lexi, Victoria, David, Daniel, Michael, Stephanie & Aidan; great-grandchildren, Tallin, Avery, Nicole, Evie, Ava, Alex, Tyson, Jr., Tylee & Tyvon; and many other family members.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, at Odean Colonial Chapel.  Burial will be in the Dyer Cemetery with his family at Dyer, AR.  Visitation is Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and with family greeting from 4-6 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared atodeanchapel.com.  Memorials are suggested to a veteran's support group of the donor's choice.
