Charles Edward Stoner was born February 6, 1933 in Cherry Co. to Rollie Edward & Mary Ann (Hoffman) Stoner. Charlie Stoner met Millie at a Quonset dance in Kilgore, NE. In 1953 they married and started his army tour. In 1957 they moved home and started ranching and started their family. Where five boys were born, Randy, Dale, infant son, Jerry and Mark. In July of 1957 they moved 40 miles south of Nenzel to the Taylor Ranch. In 1968 they moved back to Kilgore and expanded the Stoner Ranch. He also started his trucking business, hauling cattle. Charlie loved breaking horse and adopting wild mustangs and also broke them to ride. In his later year he enjoyed watching westerns, rodeos & fox news. Charlie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren brought a lot of joy to his life. He was also interest in what they were doing.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, parents, an infant son, brothers, Lyle Thomas Stoner, Rollie Douglas Stoner, Harold Dean Stoner and sister’s, Musa Irene Eagan & Millie Ruth Abbott. He is survived by 4 sons Randy (Beth), Dale (Tammy), Jerry (Kay), and Mark (Dedra); grandchildren – Becky (Casey) Lancaster, Buffy (Tom) Cooper, Kari (Ira) Spanel, Heather (Jack) King, Miles (Emilee), Bobbie Jo (Ryan) Robinson, Shara (Trent) Ford, Cody, Tell (Emily Hollopeter), Kylee (Cord) Hesseltine, Tyce, Rachel Kime & Jake Stoner. Great Grandkids Carson & Blake Lancaster, Cash & Luke Cooper, Easton, Elliot & Sunni Jo Spanel, JW, Owen & Mindee King, Briar & Baylor Stoner, Roslynn Robinson, Bentley Ford, TC & Brecken Ford, Millie Jo & Jubal Kime, Adaline & Wynn Hesseltine, Hallee & Talon. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Jim Risseeuw, & Sister-in-laws Arlene (Willie) Hoff, & Marsha Risseeuw, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in memory made to the Kilgore Cemetery or the Kilgore Fire Department. Graveside service for Charlie Stoner, age 89, of Kilgore will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 1:00 MT/2:00 CT at the Kilgore Cemetery in Kilgore. Following the graveside service will be coffee and cookies at the Kilgore Community Center. Visitation will be on Monday at 11:00 AM till 9:00 PM with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ct. Mr. Stoner passed away on Thursday, February 10th at the Cherry Co. Hospital in Valentine. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine was entrusted with service arrangements.
