
Gwenn Kloepping, formerly of Cozad, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at her home in Grand Island at the age of 73. Gwenn was born April 5, 1948 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Wilbur and Doris (Schroeder) Kloepping. She graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1966. Gwenn lived most of her life in Colorado where she worked for C&S, ATSF and Burlington Northern Railroads for five years. Gwenn loved nature in all facets, including swimming, hiking in the mountains, snow skiing and camping with friends. She enjoyed being active, running the Boulder/Boulder race and rafting on the Colorado River down the Brown Canyon. In 1986, Gwenn attended an air show in Loveland, Colorado and volunteered to wing walk on a 1943 Stearman Biplane. Her sense of adventure took her to Alaska in 1991 to run The Sleeping Lady Bed & Breakfast. She eventually moved back to Colorado where she attended and graduated with a BA in History and Women's Studies from Metropolitan State University of Denver, CO with a 3.0 GPA. Gwenn continued her adventuring by parasailing with friends in Mexico and attending a Northern Cheyenne Indian "Sun Dance" in Lame Deer, Montana. In 2011, she completed Reiki levels one, two and three to become a Reiki Master. She moved to Grand Island, Nebraska in 2015 to be closer to family. Gwenn worked at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island for 3 years planting and maintaining gardens for the 4-H Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Burrell and his wife Maxine, Robert and Fred, sister, Linda Beyersdorf and her husband Larry; niece, Lanna Devine Urban and nephew Scott Kloepping. Survivors include her sister, Jann (Dwight) Devine of Cozad; sister in law, Sharon Kloepping of Eustis; daughter, Lisa (Russell) Wenk and their son Graden of Litchfield Park, AZ; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family in her name for later designation. It was Gwenn's wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will follow at Buffalo Grove Cemetery.
