Mary Isabel Carrizales, 51, of Hershey, Nebraska, passed away February, 3, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte, Nebraska. She was born September 14, 1971 to Juan M. and Maria Esther (Hernandez) Carrizales in North Platte.
Mary grew up in Pearsall, Texas. She moved back to Nebraska with her family as a child. They lived in Hershey where she graduated from Hershey High School with the class of 1991. Mary was married to Felipe Martinez Sr. To this union five boys were born Juan, Pedro, Miguel, Felipe Jr., and Clemente. She raised her children in Hershey and North Platte. Mary enjoyed watching her kids play sports, spending time with them and playing Mexican Bingo as a family. Mary loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Dallas Cowboys. She will always be remembered as being a very loving, giving and understanding leader of her siblings. Mary was passionate about helping people with disabilities and enjoyed working at the North Platte Opportunity Center. Her faith was the most important to her. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her parents, Juan and Maria “Esther” Carrizales; children, Juan (Tia Baird) Martinez, Pedro (Kinsey Bush) Martinez, Miguel (Adriana Hickson) Martinez, Felipe Jr. (Kayla Bush) Martinez, Clemente (Ainsley Lenz) Martinez; grandchildren, Alyanna, Demetrio, Maclin, Emiliano, Adonis and one on the way; siblings, Juanita (Hector Garcia) Carrizales, Bonifacia Carrizales, Juan Carrizales, Jr., Katherine (Abraham) Lopez, Domingo (Daisy) Carrizales, Laura Carrizales, Clemente Carrizales, Veronica Carrizales, Michelle (Anthony Rico) Carrizales; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins living in Texas and Mexico and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; grandson, Juan Jr.; nephew Aniceto.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Church with The Reverend Jonathon Sorenson as celebrant. Rosary will be held at 10:30 A.M., before the Mass.
Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., Friday, February 10, 2023 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
