North Platte, Neb. - A 66-year-old woman has been arrested by police after buying minors tobacco, alcohol products according to officials.
According to the North Platte Police Department (NPPD), the police department received a tip from the Lincoln County Crime Stoppers that 66-year-old Nanette Timms was procuring alcohol and tobacco products for minors in the North Platte area.
In a press release from NPPD, Timms was using her phone to communicate with minors. Minors would pay her in online transactions and cash payments for alcohol and tobacco products. Timms would have juveniles pick up the products in person at various locations or would leave the items outside her residence.
On Friday, August 16th, investigators observed Timms obtain a large amount of alcohol at Walmart. Investigators witnessed her meet up with two parked vehicles in the parking lot, and Timms placed the alcohol and tobacco products into each of the two vehicles, according to officials.
Law enforcement contacted the two vehicles occupied by the minors and made contact with Timms. One vehicle was occupied by three juveniles and the other was occupied by one juvenile female. The alcohol, liquor, and tobacco products were then seized by law enforcement.
NPPD states Timms was placed into custody on four counts of Procuring Alcohol to Minors (Class I Misd.) and three counts of Selling or Giving Tobacco or a nicotine Product or Device to a Minor (Class III Misd.). More charges are pending upon completion of the investigation.
