No injuries reported after a train struck a semi-truck near Haigler

Haigler, NEB. - No injuries reported after a semi-truck was struck by a BNSF train on Friday near Haigler. 

According to the Dundy County Sherrif's Office, on Friday, just before 11:45 am (mountain time), Dundy County Communications received a report of a BNSF train that hit a semi-truck hauling a heavy excavator near U.S. Highway 34 at Mile Marker 2.

According to officials, investigation shows the semi-truck became high centered when trying to cross the railroad tracks. The driver of the semi exited the vehicle before the train struck the semi-truck. He sustained no injuries. The crew of the train was also uninjured during the collision. The semi, trailer and at least one BNSF engine appear to have extensive disabling damage. 

The Dundy County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Haigler Fire Department, Benkelman Fire Department and Dundy County Ambulance.
