One of the bright spots in North Platte this holiday season, literally, was the 700 block of East Tenth Street.

The block was transformed into Holiday Road lighted Christmas display all to raise funds for local child advocacy group, the Guardians of the Children-Flat Rock Chapter.

On Wednesday, the Guardians were presented with a check for over $5,000 which were raised from free-will offerings.

The event was made possible by the residents of East Tenth Street, along with Al's Lock and Safe, Gary's Super Foods, and the Coffee Bin.

The Guardians are a non-profit organization that serves as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crisis and to raise awareness of child abuse.
