After a windy and warm start to the work week, the National Weather Service in North Platte is warning of the possibility of severe storms — mainly in areas east of Highway 183.
While pastureland across central and north-central Kansas is greening up, the NWS also warned that low humidity and highs in the upper-70s Monday and Tuesday will lead to an elevated risk of wildfires.
Wednesday will see the mercury begin to dip, with a high of just 50 degrees predicted by Friday.
There is a 20 percent chance of precipitation in the early morning hours Wednesday. The chance of showers continues into Friday afternoon.
