Kenneth "Kenny" Jacob Essman passed away at North Platte, NE on Sunday, November 16, 2025 as the result of a car accident.
Kenny was born on July 19, 1997 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona to Kevin Essman and Mary Emery.
Kenny grew up in North Platte and attended Lincoln Elementary School there. Kenny graduated from Maxwell High School in 2015. He enjoyed playing football, but his favorite sport was wrestling. Kenny was also a member of the Maxwell Band and loved playing his saxophone.
Kenny enjoyed traveling with his grandparents to different places listed in the Nebraska Passport Program. His grandpa took him hunting and taught him how to hunt. Kenny was so thrilled when he shot his first deer.
After graduation, Kenny worked as a cook at a couple of different places. He spent the summer last year working for a company that paints lines on airport runways. He enjoyed that because he could be outside to do that.
Kenny also enjoyed doing some traveling to different places with his mother. Along with traveling, Kenny enjoyed hiking the mountains outside of Tucson. Also taking his dog, Iris, for walks along the Platte River.
Kenny was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Roger Emery and William Essman; and other family members.
Kenny is survived by his mother, Mary; his father, Kevin; his brother, Logan (Taylor); his sister, Myah; his grandmothers, Carol Emery and Marilyn Essman; two nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held for Kenny on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the North Platte Eagles Club.
