News Release Bethel Church North Platte

Bethel Church of North Platte will be offering scholarships to families and volunteers for the Joni & Friends 5-day Family Retreat in Nebraska. Held at the iconic Maranatha Camp and Retreat Center August 9 - August 13, 2021, families will be refreshed and encouraged in a Christ-centered, accessible camp environment.

The Retreat provides inclusive worship, Bible-based teaching and programs, and loads of fun activities including swimming, fishing, a climbing wall, campfires, and more. Families will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature settings and connect with other special needs families who understand life with disability.

Advancing Disability Ministry for Over 40 Years

Joni & Friends is the leading global non-profit providing Christian ministry to people impacted by disability. Since 1979, they have been advancing disability ministry and changing the church and communities around the world. Their International Disability Center serves as the administrative center for ministry programs and locations across the United States which provide outreach to thousands of families impacted by disability around the globe.

“As I learn more about serving children with special needs, the more I realize how underserved they are in the most common of desires - like ‘camp’ week during the summer,” said Tami Littrell, director of family and children’s ministry. “Bethel Church is ready to help by offering scholarships to families and volunteers to attend this special event.”
