North Platte resident, Greg Bailey, unexpectedly died at Great Plains Health on January 30, 2022. He was 55 years old.
Greg was born to Cecil, Jr. and Kathleen Bailey on October 5, 1966, in North Platte where he grew up. Greg graduated from NPHS and later hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as an Engineer for over 20 years.
On August 4, 1989, Greg married Ranelle McIntosh in North Platte where they made their home. After retiring from the railroad, Greg had more time to enjoy being with his family and playing with his grandson. He also liked to do leather work and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Cecil Bailey, Jr.; brother, Mike Bailey; and Ranelle.
Survivors include his sons, Mitchel Bailey, of North Platte and Marcus Bailey, of Grand Island; grandson, Jett Carter Bailey; his special friend, Carrie Easton, of North Platte; his brothers, Tom (Yvonne) Bailey, Pat (Wende) Bailey and Kelly Bailey (Janean Dorram), all of North Platte; sisters, Brenda (Neil) Deertz, of North Platte, Lisa (Mark) Johns, of Chicago, IL, and Sharyl (Dave) Poletti, of Pennsylvania; and other family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Odean Colonial Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery at Sutherland. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
