She met the love of her life, Ervin, and married him February 19, 1954. They made their home in Holdrege and had 5 children: Rick, Randy, Rita, Ronda, and Rudy.
In 1966, they moved to Chappell where they purchased the Wayside Café Motel and Conoco station. She became busy being a cook, waitress, dish washer, clerk, and maid.
But the most important aspect of her life was her family.
In 1969, they sold the business and moved to their present home where they lived for 55 years.
Later when the kids were grown, she traveled with Ervin and worked alongside of him for Werner Construction, always returning back to their home in the winter.
