
Marilyn Louise Lutz was born on August 23, 1936, in Benkelman, Nebraska, to Dr. G. Albert and Marguerite Morehouse. Marilyn grew up and attended school in Benkelman, graduating from Benkelman High School in 1954.
On September 5, 1954, Marilyn married Chris Frankie Lutz at the Benkelman Methodist Church. The couple settled on the farm six miles east of Benkelman on Highway 34, where they raised their six children.
Marilyn was a member of the Benkelman United Methodist Church and PEO. She enjoyed gardening, baking, making quilts and sewing. Marilyn especially loved spending time with her family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Frankie Lutz; parents Dr. G. Albert and Marguerite Morehouse; sister and husband Margie and Don Ehle; daughter Sherri Wiese; in-laws Martin and Ella Lutz; sister-in-law Leanne Andres; brothers-in-law Linn, Dale, LeRoy, Marlin and Bobby Lutz.
Survivors include her daughters Francie Haines & husband Kenny of Benkelman, Nebraska, Emily Thompson & husband David of Paxton, Nebraska, Janie Lutz of Satanta, Kansas, Carey Hagerman of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and Mary Faesser & husband Al of Ogallala, Nebraska; son-in-law Brad Wiese of Benkelman, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Toby Stamm & husband Frank of Torrington, Wyoming; sisters-in-law Joan Jones & husband Dee of North Platte, Nebraska, Jackie Lutz of Benkelman, Nebraska, Donna Rae Lutz of Camarillo, California, Marj Lutz of Santa Marie, California, and Gloria Lutz of Yutan, Nebraska; and a brother-in-law Bob Andres of Paso Robles, California.
Funeral services are pending.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home.
Benkelman Memorial Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
