The National Weather Service in North Platte is calling for up to 3 inches of snow in Lincoln County starting Wednesday with heavier snow staying to the north. Ogallala is expected to receive 3 to 4 inches of accumulation.
The NWS is warning of slippery road conditions and poor visibility, making travel hazardous into Thursday. Wind chill values are expected to be 30 below zero or colder, with sustained northwest winds up to 25 mph and gusts up to 45 mph.
The high Wednesday and Thursday is only expected to reach 10 degrees, with overnight lows well below zero.
The weekend will bring a warmup, with highs in the mid-40s to low-50s Saturday through Tuesday.
