Snow is expected to begin in the North Platte area after midnight Wednesday, although the National Weather Service is predicting heavier accumulations will stay to the north.
There is a 70 percent chance of snow, possibly mixed with rain, before noon Thursday, then a slight chance of rain between noon and 3 p.m.
The NWS is now predicting no more than an inch of total accumulation. The system, however, will be accompanied by strong wind, sustained at 15 to 20 mph and gusting to 30 mph.
The remainder of the week is expected to be partly sunny, with daytime highs going to from the low-40s on Friday to the mid-50s on Saturday.
